Living In The Country

I don't remember all of the things that take place while living in the country, but, I think we have experienced quite a bit in the one month that we have lived here to REMIND me :)

Yesterday, my fourth child Rachie and the others were building a play area down under a tree aways from the house~ they called it their "bible adventure" they had the wagon, their food and all things needed. All of the sudden I hear MOMMA!!! Don't let them bite me PLEEEASSSEEE don't let them bite me! That terror....that feeling of oh my gosh! What has happened. Rachel runs in and I start taking all clothing OFF and put her in the bathroom to SEE what it is...
I am so freightened because we have so many friends and family here resently that have been bit by spiders including some dear friends (their son got bit by a black widow and spent 1 week in OU Medical) so...these stories were too close to home (if you know what I mean.)
Anyhow, I am embarressed to admit I had no benedryl so...I put Ice on it, called Steve and he said better to be safe than sorry! I rush off to Urgent care (mind you, we have just moved so...I know where NOTHING is...) and we end up in Tri City with a doctor that could not even tell us what he THOUGHT it might be. I was frusterated because she was crying from the trauma of getting bit that many times as well as saying mommy! Please don't let them bite me over and over! The doc and nurse go through their round of questions while we fill out a MOUNTAIN of paper work and then that lovely ole question: "Is THE CHILD up on her vaccines" I am sorry folks but, HOW RELEVANT IS THIS RIGHT NOW- (I have a primary physician and he understands our stance on this) and I say politely that is irrelevant to her case right now could you please guess what you might think and he was in and OUT LITERALLY within 2 minutes time and says we have no way of knowing and gives instructions. I can't see of a doc studying for 10+ years that cannot atleast take a minute to study the bite and the swelling, and sting MAYBE JUST MAYBE. Long story short today she still has a slight fever and we are uncertain yet, have prayed and her little heart was so scared she asks: "Momma, will I die in 25 minutes?" :(
bless her heart! Please pray for Rachel that she won't allow fear to keep her from going to the Bible Adventure and playing outside where she loves to be most! She is very afraid of stepping foot out there (and this is a girl that LOVES the outdoors.)

Oh Les, Pooorr Rachie Get some benadryl in her and have Steve scour their area. Um, there are Melaleuca treatments for spraying over the bug and spider areas that will help kill and keep them away. (I can look those up in a book I have -email me to let me know you want me to) When she knows that the area has been looked over and sprayed safely, she will probably feel better. But I will be praying for that peace that only He can give. I love you!
